Travel Policies

As of June 20, 2022, vaccine mandates in Canada have been suspended. However, booking a tour unvaccinated is at your own risk. 
 

All tours are 100% non-refundable. In the event the government brings back or implements a travel vaccine any monies paid would be lost. ” 

NEW ** UPDATED **COVID 19 PROTOCOL

 

Guests who contact Covid 19 while traveling with the tour may not be able to continue with the tour depending on the itinerary of each tour.  Depending on severity of sickness or illness, guests may be removed and isolated.  If symptoms are mild and fully boosted and vaccinated guests can continue with advisement from Management. Collins Tours & Consulting Ltd is not responsible for any flight delays, schedule changes, gate changes, acts of God, mechanical issues, any emergencies, or any missed connections due from any such events described above or unforeseen circumstances arising not described above, yet may cause similar outcomes or delays.   Collins Tours & Consulting Ltd. is not responsible for providing additional transportation costs, if necessary, reimbursements of any kind for these additional expenses, loss of use, or loss hotel nights, meals, transportation arrangements, or any portion of your planned vacation you have that may or may not be missed.  These costs, if any, will be paid directly by the traveler and submitted through the appropriate persons travel insurance provider for reimbursement of expenses.  Please contact our office if you need assistance with all-inclusive medical insurance, trip cancellation and interruption coverage, or quarantine insurance.  Collins Tours & Consulting Ltd. does not anticipate any such concerns or events and only wishes for everyone to ensure proper travel insurance has been purchased in advance.

Tour price including Deposits

Initial deposit can be transferred to another tour within the same calendar year up to 30 days after booking. New reservations must be made for the same traveler, otherwise, name change fees apply – see “Name Changes or Corrections” section for more details. Collins Tours has many supplier agreements to meet and is not responsible for clients’ misfortunes, sickness, illness, or changes in decisions to travel. Deposits secure your travel arrangements on the tour you have chosen. Balances must be paid in full prior to the tour by designated date or risk of automatic cancellation with full loss of payments. To avoid disappointment, we ask for all payments to be met by initial timelines provided on invoices, website, or documentation from Collins Tours. Note: If the final payment date passes, or if reservation is made after the tour’s final payment date, the deposit amount cannot be moved to a different tour.

RETURNING GUEST DISCOUNT - At Collins Tours, we take great pride in the relationships formed during our getaways. As a thank you for your continued support, all returning guests receive a $50/person discount on their new tour booking for tours valued between $2000-$4000 or a $75/person discount on tours above $4,000 per person in price.

LOYALTY REWARDS PROGRAM - In addition to our returning guest discount, we also offer VIP Loyalty Rewards. Your rewards are based on the dollars spent during the previous calendar year and expire at the end of 2023 or 2024, depending on what year they are issued.

REFERRAL DISCOUNT - We are happy to have many of our customers refer their friends and family to travel with Collins Tours.  As a way to thank our loyal customers, effective December 2022, we are offering a discount of $75 for each new customer you bring to Collins Tours who make a new reservation on a Collins Tours escorted vacation.  These discounts are redeemable for your new reservation booked in 2023.  Spread the word and save!

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance can minimize the considerable financial risks of traveling: acts of God, accidents, illness, missed flights, global pandemics, canceled tours, lost baggage, and theft. As all our tours are non-refundable, we highly recommend that you consider Travel Insurance. Without travel insurance, your travel investment is unprotected/non-refundable. You are also at considerable risk for medical expenses while traveling outside of your home province, outside Canada and abroad.  Medical care is your full expense without a form of insurance. Collins Tours is not liable in any way for personal medical needs, bills, or hospitalization, cancellations, misconnections, or delayed travel.

Cross Border & International Travel

It is the responsibility of each traveler to verify their status with Border Officials prior to commencement of travel to ensure entrance in other countries. Collins Tours is not responsible in any form, not liable for any costs or expenses incurred from denial of entry, refusal of boarding planes, trains, or cruises abroad, or any additional transportation, no credits, or reimbursements of any kind. Ensure your passports are valid for the required length of time to visit each country you will be entering. Refunds, reimbursements, credits, change compensation, of any kind will not be provided by Collins Tours for any of the events.

Seat Rotation & Accessibility

There are no exceptions to seat rotation, which is carried out and explained by the Tour Manager during the trip, unless the office was provided a certified note from a physician. A physician’s note will allow you to sit in the front third of the motorcoach, but it will not give you a set seat, you will still have to take part in seat rotation. 

NOTE: While we continue to abide by government restrictions implemented to end transmission of Covid-19, we will temporarily be assigning passengers to one seat for the entire duration of the purchased tour.

Mobility

Travelers requiring assistance must be accompanied by a companion who will be fully responsible while on tour.  Tour managers are not permitted to personally assist partially disabled clients.  Help is always provided, and personal companions are recommended for those who need daily assistance. Tour managers or Collins Tours is not responsible or liable for participants who may or may not be able to attend certain events due to personal abilities.

Luggage Allowance – Motorcoach

Each guest is allowed one large suitcase that does not exceed 50lbs, which is stored in the luggage compartment below the coach, one carry-on bag suitable for storage in the overhead compartment or under your seat and a personal item such as a purse or camera bag.

Luggage Allowance – Flights

Each guest is allowed one large suitcase that does not exceed 50lbs, which will be checked luggage with the airline. Many of our tours include the cost for the 1 st checked bag, please confirm with our Sales Team if this is included on the Tour you are considering. Luggage fees are structured by the airlines and are paid directly to them upon check in where applicable. Collins Tours is not responsible or liable for reimbursement of damaged or lost luggage, all passengers must ensure they have travel insurance for coverage. If no such insurance exists, all clients must contact individual airlines directly for appropriate action or reimbursements if applicable.

Name Changes or Corrections

Should your travel plans change, and a substitution of a passenger is required, please be aware that a minimum administration fee of $150 CAD will be charged per change for any of our Escorted Vacations. Name changes can be made up to 14 days prior to departure date. Name changes are not permitted on tours that include transportation by airline and/or cruise line. Other travel transportation methods may have additional restrictions. Collins Tours may have to deny changes made within 30 days prior to travel.  It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure they have provided proper spelling of names on valid travel documents. Failure to provide the proper spelling of names will result in further costs to clients and/or possible cancellations at traveler’s expense.

Passenger Conduct

Please understand that Collins Tours has the right to ask any participant to leave the tour should his/her behavior disrupt the group or Tour Manager from providing the service required to conduct the tour. This is a zero-tolerance policy. If such a rare occurrence transpires, no refunds, credits, reimbursements will be provided from Collins Tours.

Photography

Tour Managers may take photographs of you, as part of the group and these maybe used in our print or electronic media without obtaining any further consent from passengers in respect of such photographs.

Travelling with Children

​

Most itineraries do not cater to children’s interest or activity levels and are not particularly suited to children. Please use good judgment if bringing a child on one of our tours not suited for children

​

Washrooms

We travel in deluxe European and North American style motor coaches, equipped with an onboard emergency washroom. Onboard facilities are not intended for regular use, rather we make frequent stops for everyone’s comfort onboard our tours.

​

Itinerary and Final Documents

The most current itinerary can be found on our website. The itinerary is posted online so passengers can get an approximate idea of how a tour is laid out. No detail contained within can be confirmed until much closer to the departure and are, therefore subject to change until the “final” copy has been issued. The final copy will be assembled and sent along with final tour documentation approximately 3 weeks prior to departure. For some of our shorter haul tours, the packages may not be received until 2 weeks prior to departure. Electronic copies may be requested at an earlier date in some cases. Final itineraries may need to be modified for overall tour operation or changes in posts of call, destinations due to unforeseen circumstances. No reimbursement or credits will be provided. Alternative solutions or choices will be made.

 

Currency

Most places we visit will accept major credit card and will have Bank Machines to withdraw local currency. We do not recommend travelling with large amount of cash. Consider having a small amount of local currency and using a credit card or accessing cash through the bank machines.

Pick Up Locations

We offer 9 guaranteed passenger pickup locations for our Motorcoach Tours across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. If another location is requested, please provide your desired location at time of booking and we will consider providing complimentary pickups at that location to meet the main coach.

​

Seat Selection on Airlines

Our air seats are booked through the Group Travel department for each airline. These reservations are managed differently than a single reservation and have different requirements and restrictions. The most noticeable for our guest is seat selections. With a group reservation, we are not able to request or pre-select seats for any class of service. The seat numbers are provided to us at time the tickets are issued (about 21 days prior to departure) and cannot be changed until the 24hrs Check In or the airline’s website has opened.
